Welcome from our Chief

Chief Robert Salem

On behalf of the New Castle City Police, I would like to welcome you to the police department’s website. Information about the NCPD and the services we provide are just a click away. It is my hope that this site will provide our residents with a valuable resource for information about the police department.

Our Goal for this website is to keep the public informed on the latest public safety news and activities of the New Castle Police. In addition, you will find electronic ways to submit tips on criminal activity, file a complaint or commend an officer. I hope you find the site informative and easy to use.

The Police Department consists of 48 sworn officers and 3 Police Clerks. The Police Department is responsible for 24-hour community wide law enforcement and responds to all requests for emergency services. The Police Department responds to over 25,000 calls for service per year.

I believe the men and women of the New Castle City Police Department are its most valuable asset and the essential ingredient to effectively and efficiently accomplish the police mission.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Salem

Chief of Police
